What a beautiful day![break][break]
What was once a chaotic sky above Jupiter was now a pristine cyan color, with wispy clouds speckling the heavens in various artful forms. The only thing missing were birds. Oh, how she longed to see birds again. Leaning against her seat, enjoying her view from the balcony, the black hair girl fidgeted for a moment with the black ribbons in her hair. Her pupils narrowed like a predator on a hunt, their blackness contrasting with the bright cerulean of her irises. Stifling a quiet yawn, the girl eventually shrugged and pulled the ribbons from her hair, letting it fall down her back and shoulders. That was much better. She was way too tired to putz around with these damned ribbons. Stretching her arms high above her head, she once again let out a little yawn, this one followed by a little squeak as she settled back in her chair.[break][break]
“Lady Miori, your outfit is ready!” A cheerful voice chimed in from the room. Miori’s cerulean eyes shot over to the door, hopping up excitedly as she ran back into her room. Whoever was the source of the voice as now long gone, but Miori’s outfit was set neatly on the edge of her bed. Smiling, she slowly shuffled over to it, inspecting it piece-by-piece. It was much like her usual attire, a long sleeved red shirt with a black skirt, but she had something a little different done with the top this time. Instead of the usual, the new red top was slim-fitting, with an area in the back left open to expose her lower back. It seemed comfortable and like something she’d try, so she put the order in as soon as she could.[break][break]
Running to her door, Miori flipped the lock and began kicking her pajamas off, taking a moment to study her reflection. She was pleased with how she maintained herself, especially since being taken off the testing program for the Noblesse Oblige. It was hell on her, that was for sure. Smiling, Miori began slipping into her new outfit, then maneuvered to her drawers where she pulled out a small lockbox. A quick combination entered, and a necklace was revealed. This was a gift from her father - a rare diamond found while they were terraforming the planet. This was the Ebon Heart. Without hesitating, Miori looped the necklace around her slender neck, checking herself in the mirror one last time before running out the door.[break][break]
What was the plan today? Going to the mall, of course!

Not once in her life did she think that it would be possible to visit such a planet that was once full of gases that were toxic to most forms of sentient life. From pictures to old videos and movies, the planet Jupiter was considered impossible to inhabit, however, her she was. Visiting the red giant without having to worry about her lungs exploding from just a simple breath of this planets atmosphere. Karina stepped outside on the veranda of her hotel room, applied to her by the military since her assigned group was currently stationed at the homeland. The sky was a brilliant blue hue that was not as nice as the one on humanities former home, Earth, but it was nice. The city below saw very busy, very active, though not just with humans; it had other sentient beings as well including Edens and Half-Edens. There were other things down there, but Karina couldn't bring herself to remember them all. She was dressed in her public attire with a pair of scarlet pink ribbons in her hair. She had some earphones in here ears, listening to the latest pop jams and techno beats; the current artists of the late Twenty First Century were trendy and pretty good, but she thought she could do better. Walking back inside after a moment of staring off into the distance, Karina plopped on one of the chairs that most hotel rooms came with, besides the bed. Having traveled with her assigned battle group, it was tiring sitting on a warship all day wondering when the next landmass would come into view. The smell of oil and metal was enough to drive someone crazy if there was no fresh air to equal it out. It was then a knock on her door rang out from the small entrance hallway. Karina moved to the door with caution cause a few of her fellow soldiers liked to play pranks. The Peek hole showed a slightly older gentleman in hotel staff clothes waiting for her to answer the door, apparently he had a message for her from a few of the command staff of her ship. Karina opened the door to answer the man. “Yes? Can I help you?”, she asked. “Oh, no. I was just delivering a message from a Lieutenant Commander Wallace. He says that your ship will be departing in a couple of days for a routine patrol run. Enjoy yourselves while you can.”, the man said. “Well, I would hope I'm not the only one getting this message.”, Karina retorted. “Oh of course not. I just notified several others in the building.”, The man replied. “Well then, thank you for delivering the message.”, Karina said. She tossed the guy a tip since she knew he went out of his way to deliver the message. Karina shut the door and wandered back into the room, wondering what to do since command was moving her ship out on such short notice. She walked back out to the veranda in a bit of a stressed mood now that she was to head back out soon. She looked around, this peaceful city was going to be out of her sight soon. So what to do? Karina caught sight of what looked like a mall in the distance, well it was something to do at least. Grabbing her wallet, slipping on her shoes and leaving the hotel room, door locked and all, she headed for the Mall to find something to do. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Miori skipped playfully down the sidewalks of the city. Cloudclaw was beautiful, even moreso from below. She loved the vantage point from her room, but to be in the midst of all the life was an entirely different feeling indeed. A few of the people she wandered by recognized her, stopping “Lady Ebonheart” for a quick word, and sometimes pictures. It was a pseudo-celebrity lifestyle she had grown accustomed to since being adopted by the later Vernier Ebonheart. She didn’t mind it, but at the same time, Miori didn’t feel like she deserved it.[break][break]
Continuing her walk, Miori added a little spring to her step. Her hair bounced a little with every step, gently swaying in the light breeze. A young woman with child caught her attention, the light blue orbs of her eyes fixating on the two for a moment as she passed by. Miori loved kids, especially ones that were being raised properly. The youth of the day was a little corrupt, being bred into a lifestyle of privilege and the like. It was honestly a little distressing, and as such it was one of the things Miori wanted to try and work on as the Empress of the Ebonheart Empire. She had big shoes to fill in her father's absence, but she was ready. This was her's now.[break][break]
Entering the mall, Miori's eyes widened at all the sensory information rushing into her head all at once. The sounds, the smells, the sight of the place. It was almost too much, to be honest, but at the same time it was perfect. To Miori, this environment was exhilarating. A large smile crept across her face as her eyes shimmered in response to the various light displays. A small purse slung over her shoulder, she began wandering about to find the first store to peruse. Eventually, she decided she would settle for a music store not far into the mall. "This seems like the perfect place to start." Miori said to herself, the tone of her voice gleeful and reflecting her chipper mood. "I could use a new CD or two!" Within moments, Mio was digging through stacks of compact disks, intent on finding the best of the best.[break][break]
Problem was - she didn't really know what she was looking for.

| Shopping? Well, what to shop for? | |
The transition through the hotel was quite intriguing because as she her decent through the elevator, Karina usually minded her own business but a slightly older man stood behind her, blushing as if he had never seen a Half-Eden Human before. The idea that her over all appearance created such a situation even in a secluded place like an elevator was a strange idea, but Karina didn't mind it because it was just a harmless reaction from someone who seemed to have exotic tastes in the opposite sex. When the Elevator opened at the ground floor, Karina stepped out of it casually, but looked back and gave the man a friendly smile, though because of his frozen reaction, the elevator shut on the guy and headed back up for the next person, he was probably gonna be late to where ever he was going. The lobby was quite different though, because it was a mix of different types of people from reptilian to half-animal type humans, so Karina's appearance from there to the door wasn't as unique in a sense. The outside of the hotel, as she stepped outside of the door, was met with a very comfortable breeze that turned some of the humidity into pure cool refreshing air. She took to a quick sprint as the trolley that headed for the Mall was about to leave, she had just made it to the trolley car when it took off. “Whew, any later and this thing would have taken off without me.” Karina said to herself. The trolley car moved for about a block before it turned down a street that was divided by the special trolley rails. The car moved very carefully, but swiftly down the road. There were quite a few people on this cable car, mostly because it was easier to catch than a bus and it was a unique experience to behold , something that Karina had only read about that existed on Earth. It did not take long to reach the block that had the mall on it, the trolley arrived next to what looked like the parking structure for the building. She didn't want to go through that cause the entrance on that side was most likely on the second floor. There was nothing like experiencing a mall from the first floor then ascending the different floors one at a time to see what kind of shops and businesses lined the hallways. There area was quite bustling and from the front of the building it looked as if snazzy little contests and kiosks were being presented to the public. A couple from a vehicle stand attempted to offer Karina a chance to win the said vehicle, but what was the point if she didn't live on this planet? “Sorry, maybe some other time. I don't exactly live on Jupiter.”, Karina said politely. “Oh, I'm sorry. Well I hope you'll give us a try in the future.”, said the Helghast lady. Karina went on her way into the entrance of the Mall. From the front, she saw small snack shops and little jewelry sales hubs. There was a hat shop and a third party electronics store as well, but nothing that truly enticed her. What Karina was interested in at the moment were the latest music trends and clothing styles which would probably have locations scattered around the mall. So, it was time to look! ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Miori shuffled about the stacks upon stacks of CDs, studying each one meticulously as she peered at it before tossing it over her shoulder. The employees in the store watched her every move, a certain angst showing in their face as they watched each case fly over her shoulder. They were expecting some sort of catastrophe - a case hitting the ground and crashing into itty bitty bits all over the place. Miori wasn’t a newbie at this by any means. She had been around before and dug through the stacks of music that was on display - she had this whole shpeel perfected.[break][break]
As each case went over the raven-haired girl’s shoulder, it landed with precision in a neat little stack. Her habits left her needing to do all manners of things without looking sometimes, so it was only natural that the young woman would eventually master the art of tossing stuff over her shoulders and having it land in a nice pile. “Nope...Hrm, no, not this one either...Huh, this doesn’t look to bad, but at the same time it doesn’t look too good, either...” Miori mumbled to herself. No doubt she might have caught the curious gazes of passersby, who would look either with confusion or awe, maybe even both. Miori’s cerulean eyes fluttered for a moment on a case that looked familiar.[break][break]
Sure enough, it was an album a friend of hers had showed her days earlier. It made her smile for a moment as she carefully traced the intricate artwork with her finger. “Come home safe, Klein.” She said, her voice so quiet even she could barely hear herself. The friendship that had sparked between the two was not what she expected. Sure, she was outspoken, but she always had trouble talking to men - except for Leo and Ash, both of which she had grown accustomed to during their tenure with the Empire. Klein was a little different, and enigma of sorts. Still, his friendship was something she wouldn’t trade for anything in the world - or the entire Sol System, if it would appease the mind.[break][break]
Her expression changed from one of pure bliss to one reflecting her inner distress. Klein, Leo, Ash. Her friends were gone - all shipped off with the Vernier after word that a massive attack was to take place near the Neptunian colony of Titan. Many more were to follow, but the Vernier was top of the line, and thus was sent ahead to survey the situation. Miori let out a quiet sigh before a smile crept across her face again, taking the album she had found to the counter and purchasing it without much conversation with the clerk. Snickering, Miori skipped out of the store and began looking around at all that was going on now. It was getting a little more busy, no doubt a result of the time of day. Grinning, the young Empress began searching for the next place to continue her hijinks.[break][break]
Eyeing a girl with blue hair and Eden eyes, Miori smiled happily and waved at her. It may have been because she didn’t pay much attention, but Miori didn’t see many other Eden-folk around Jupiter. She figured this was because of the stigma surrounding their race and the Harbinger Union having a largely Eden population. Racism wasn’t something she was going to tolerate within her Empire. Not one bit. Walking up to the girl, Miori smiled gleefully. “Hello, stranger!” She chimed. “New around here?”

The second floor halls of the Mall were lined with some nice business stores, some where mobile phone providers, others looked like either bill collectors or beauty and salon businesses. One of the halls was filled with nothing more than clothing for sportswear, basic everyday commoner clothes, some stores even tailored themselves to men or women specifically. Karina wandered the mall like a lost puppy, mostly because a good portion of her mind was one what to buy and what would she even be able to take back to Titan with her? There was a need to pack lightly so the options that were available to Karina were a bit limited. Sportswear sounded nice because it was loss fitting and was easy to move in, however, some of the woman’s only stores that had the latest dresses and designs from the Empires top designers were showing some very appealing sets. In her mind it was like having to choose between going to a university or going to a community college. On one hand, Community College usually was cheaper to afford but the curriculum were probably not as set, on the other though, a University had plenty of credibility behind its graduates but it was pretty expensive. Karina decided to skip with the clothing departments for now and moved down the way to where the second floor became this giant circle that showed the first floor and the third floor above it. People could be seen on the ground floor and across the way, it was enticing to be around such a peaceful social place. However, how long would it be before the Earth Forces decided to make a visit? Karina wanted to make the best of this. He attention was soon pulled away from her walking path when a music store caught her eyes, music was simple enough to carry even on a warship and in the event she did need to remove items to help keep her room clean, CD's could easily be transferred to a PC or of some sort and discarded. She began walking over to the store when a dark haired girl wandered up and randomly greeted Karina, while Karina didn't mind, it was a little strange. She stopped when the also suddenly wandered over, Karina couldn't get out of the exchange now, but she guessed it wouldn't hurt to reply to the girl. “Hello yourself, its a bit surprising when someone greets you out of the blue like that.” Karina said, being honest about the situation. “No, not to terribly new. I've been to Cloudclaw a couple of times so its not terribly big to navigate.”, she said. Karina looked at the girl, she was around her own generation, but seemed more energetic than most other young adults who were Karina's age. She also had a few bags which meant she probably liked to shop ”So, to whom do I have the pleasure or talking too?”, Karina asked. It was probably rude not to introduce herself first though, so she followed through. “I'm Karina, Karina Redfield.”, Karina explained. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Miori’s eyes lit up happily as the girl returned her greeting.[break][break]
It was wonderful to get out and meet new people, even if you just kind of happened upon them in the middle of the mall, as was her current case. Life had to stay interesting, though! Like her father always said - “If life seems a little boring, walk up to a stranger and lick their face. That should liven things up a bit.” Of course, it wasn’t meant to be taken literally. It was one of his old metaphors - basically a long way of saying “be more spontaneous” - so that’s exactly what she did.[break][break]
The girl was noticeably surprised by Miori’s random introduction, her honest comment causing the raven haired girl to giggle lightly. She was happy to hear her random companion had been around Cloudclaw before. There were times, after all, when Miori herself felt like she hardly knew the place - so she was certainly not up for showing someone around town! Last time she had done so, her and her friend had ended up stranded for several hours. It was embarrassing, to say the least.[break][break]
When she introduced herself as “Karina Redfield”, Miori grinned. She had never heard of the girl before, but she liked how the name sounded. It suited her new companion. Nodding in response to her inquiring to Miori’s identity, she held out her hand to shake Karina’s and grinned proudly. “My name is Miori! Miori Ebonheart!” She responded gleefully. “It’s nice to meet you, Karina Redfield!”

The situation on the mall floor was getting a bit strange, but none-the-less, it was still a friendly atmosphere. Karina, in her mind, sighed for a moment because she could feel the stares of passerby’s as the girl in front of her continued her oblivious mood. She was energetic and though the girl sounded fairly young, she was probably just letting off some stress. That was understandable though, the Ebonheart Empire had just gone through a war and having gone from a highly alert state to being very peaceful, it was safe to assume there were some who loosened up a bit slower than others. Karina was never part of the war until the end of it but even then, she saw little to no action after the conflict had been subdued. Whats more is that even in the midst of an environment that was just settling from the war, Karina still had deployment runs to work with since pirates were apparently a bigger problem then usual. She sighed in the back of her mind once more before returning her attention to the new company Karina so randomly had now. The nice part about the encounter was that the girl was polite enough to at least introduce herself in response. Her name was familiar, Karina hadn't thought about the people who lived on Jupiter with the intention of meeting anyone at the time but something clicked in the back of her mind the instant the word and name Ebonheart rang through Karina's mind. No way though, really? Was it really the Royal Highness in front of her now? Part of Karina wanted to distrust the name, cause anyone could easily call themselves that, however, the use of Ebonheart in someones name was likely copy written or against the law within the Empire so had to be. “Umm, excuse me, did you just say Ebonheart?”, Karina said. “If so then this is kind of strange because I didn't expect the lead family of our Empire to be so....public.” It was like living in a fantasy world, once you met a member of a Royal or even a Noble Family, it was quite an honor. Having been on the bad end of manners lately with her superior officers, Karina took it upon herself to throw a bow since she herself was a Pilot. Though, Karina thought the rumors of the Empress of Ebonheart had Karina picturing the actual person as a bit more grown up. Nice to know rumors aren't always , even never, true. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Miori grinned, delighted in the response of her newfound acquaintance. Was it really hard to believe that someone of her stature was out and about? She never considered the possibility that people weren’t used to this kind of thing, but again, Miori reveled in a chance to mingle with the common folk of the Empire. She didn’t want to be one of those leaders who hid behind a television screen and never interacted with the people. It just wasn’t her style. She nodded at Karina’s inquiry, giggling lightly. “I did, indeed, say Ebonheart!” She chimed gleefully. “I like to come down and interact with the people. Staying up in the Cloudclaw tower just isn’t my thing.”[break][break]
When Karina bowed, Miori shook her head lightly. “No, no, no!” She protested. “No need for that!” She motioned around at the life within the mall. All the people, some from Ebonheart and others from neutral colonies within their borders. Hell, there were even people coming by from Aeternus. “I’m no different than you or any of these other people.” She continued. “Formalities are not needed. It’s just a job title, more or less.”[break][break]
Taking a few steps back towards the slew of stores, Miori smiled back at Karina. “Would you like to join me for a few hours, Karina?” She smiled. “I’d love to have some company on a day like today.”

When Miori answered Karina about the girls last name, the whole thought of never getting near a royal in Karina's life was kind of shattered right then and there. Miori seemed to giggle a bit at Karina's slow but surprised realization that the Empress herself was walking around in public. Whats more is the Empress was walking around without bodyguards, was she sneaking out and was just doing it to give the palace staff a hard time? That was understandable because life alone in a large structure with only the staff as company was a bit boring, but still, that was dangerous. Miori probably trusted her public to keep herself protected from would be aggressors, but things were probably not that simple. What now though? Karina wanted some alone time but if she were to leave the Empress alone, on her name as a Soldier, how would that look? If anything this was a high pressure situation if anything. As Karina had made her bow, it seems Miori disapproved of the formalities that was usually present with these high class types, however Karina saw a bit of difference in Miori's personality especially as she announced that such a thing was a turn off for the girl. Humoring her, Karina stood back up right and took a small sigh. It was noticeable but small, Karina thought this was going to be a strange day but that was to be seen. “Well alright, if you insist.”, Karina replied. Straightening her cloths, Karina looked around to confirm that there weren't any secret bodyguards at the moment. Ebonheart local security wasn't short on resources so a hidden security agent wasn't hard to understand. However the mall seemed as normal as ever so she would probably take it upon herself to keep Miss Ebonheart safe even if it was subconsciously. Just to get the point across though Karina did bring it up. “You know its not safe to walk about unprotected like this though right? Not to say anything will happen, just I think your safety could be at question if you do this on a regular occasion.”, Karina said. Karina, though, was probably a bit more relieved that something crazy had not happened yet. However Miori kept the moment lively as she invited Karina to be her company around the Mall and stuff. There wouldn't be any problem in that, it was harmless fun after all. “Alright, I'll accompany you around, it'll be better than being stuck aboard a warship for the next couple of weeks.”, Karina said with a relaxed smile. “Shall we?” Karina motioned with her right hand in order to see where they'd end up. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Miori bounced lightly as she stood there, waiting in anticipation for Karina to either accept her invitation or reject it. Obviously, she hoped for the former. Times were lonely, and right now her only real friends were three guys - and she wasn’t completely sure how pure their intentions were, leave one. She began fidgeting with one of the ribbons in her hair, taken away almost enough to not notice Karina’s concern for her wandering about without guards. An innocent smile grew across Miori’s face, the corners of her mouth curling up into a proud grin. “I’m quite capable of protecting myself.” She responded happily. “More than most of the Empire’s pilots, in fact.”[break][break]
She switched her attention to the other ribbon, Miori furrowed her brow lightly as her patience shortened with the damned thing in her hair. However, she kept her friendly tone as she continued to carry the conversation. “I was a test pilot for a few years at the Noblesse Oblige facility.” She added, reminiscing for a moment to those days. The pain, the suffering. Everything she had to endure, only to be saved by Vernier - the man that would become her father. Her look became somber for a moment before she was brought back to the now. Miori went back to smiling, straightening her back as Karina motioned for the wandering to continue.[break][break]
Looking around, Miori continued through the mall with her new companion, looking around at all the stores they had the option of stopping at first. “So, what should we hit for our first stop, Katrina?” She queried, giggling quietly. “There’s a lot to choose from here!”

Just how strange was the apparent Empress of the nation? She was willing to go out into public and walk around as if no one would even think about trying to do something. To have such tenacity was a rare sight indeed as Karina had read stories about high priority people usually being targeted by others when out alone like this. If she trusted the public that much then by all means it was not Karina's place to say what was wrong at the moment, but there would be a rant in her journal later. The mall did manage to take some of the attention off of the two shoppers but there were people passing by who Karina recognized from the last few stretches of the mall. A few people seemed to be doing that if only to just look at Miori, that was creepy but it didn't matter, as long as they kept their distance. Karina had only a couple of days left on the surface before she was called back to the harbor and shoved off with their assigned ship to make a routine patrol run for a couple of weeks. “Well the selection is a bit overwhelming, I've never been in a place like this with so many choices in shops.”, Karina said, replying to Miori's recent comment. Karina paid no attention to the explanation Miori gave but she did hear something about a prototype machine and some very strange testing she went through. Was the Empire so desperate back then that even younger people were subjected to tests like that? Karina was sure happy to not have been though all of that, but what she had to do now was avoid talking about touchy subjects. As Miori herself asked what spots would be good to look at, Karina discovered the neatest clothing store which seemed to be selling commoner type clothing, stuff that looked like middle class citizens enjoyed. “Well, we could always start at the one place girls love the most.”, Karina said. “I wonder what the latest trends are so far?” Karina moved over to the shop, it was a quaint little establishment with lots of styles and as she walked it, the sent of sportswear and new clothes hit her immediately. Look around in this store for a little bit and try on some of the stuff she saw as her favorites, though only for a bit. Karina recalled seeing Miori come out of a music store earlier so she launched the question. “Oh, didn't you come out of a music store a couple of moments ago? How are the titles so far?”, Of course Karina was obviously asking about what the store had that was any good so far. Karina, in them meantime, discovered some nice looking light fitting tops that were a little frilly at the bottom but very nice overall. “No..no, too open ended.” Karina thought to herself. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Wandering the vastness of the mall with her new friend - or rather, her new acquaintance, Miori looked around intently as they traversed further. Just where to go, exactly? She couldn’t decide at all! The raven haired girl furrowed her brow a bit as she carefully studied all the signs, taking extra care not to lose Karina in the building crowd of people. Some of them had no idea who she was, others stopped and took pictures. Miori didn’t care for the celebrity lifestyle, not one bit. She was more worried about the people being treated fairly, and keeping them from belittling themselves in her or other Tower residents’ presence. They were no different than any of them.[break][break]
The smile on her face grew a little as Karina commented on the selection at the mall. She was right, the selection was quite large. “Cloudclaw has one of the largest selections within the Sol System.” Miori responded with a light giggle. “In fact, it might actually be the largest within Sol.” As Karina singled out a nearby clothing store, Miori came to a dead halt and glued her eyes to the store in question. A grin took over her face as she peered over to Karina, nodding. “We should definitely go in there.” She said with a light cackle. “Honestly, this dressy stuff I always end up wearing can get pretty boring.” She bee-lined towards the store, turning back to Karina with a hearty laugh. “Come on, Karina! Help me pick something out!”[break][break]
Once in the store, Miori was in a world all her own. She had never seen so many cute outfits before - clearly her time being cooped up was causing her to miss out. But that was all her father’s doing, and she wouldn’t have changed anything he chose to do up until now. She was snapped back to reality by Karina asking about the music store, with Miori responding only by a dumb look on her face. “Um...Oh! That place!” She laughed, blushing lightly. How embarrassing to forget something like that! “Yeah! I always liked the music there. Ever since I was able to start leaving the Tower, I always liked to pop by and see what they have. Some new, some old. I like it all, really.” She added with a grin.[break][break]
Digging through the racks of clothes, Miori continued to eye over towards Karina to make sure she - that is, Miori - was acting normal. She wasn’t used to hanging out with other girls. She noticed Karina looking at a top, which the promptly put away. Tilting her head, Miori hummed curiously as she waddled over to where Karina was standing. “What’s wrong with that one?” She queried. “I think it’s cute, don’t you?”

Karina could spend an hour at the most prancing around the store because while she probably had plenty of clothes back home, it was nice to have something on the side when ever the ships were docked. There was a pretty large selection of clothes in what seemed like a girls only story, but it had a lot of street style clothes that were probably looked down upon by some of the higher class citizens. Miori was quite the companion to be around though, because she seemed to enjoy looking at the items Karina had just looked at. Though, to Karina, she looked a little lost as if she wasn't used to being knowledgeable about the newest items on the market. It was okay though, being the biggest known person in the Empire meant the simplicities of life were not always available or easy to get to on a personal level. When she asked what Karina thought was wrong with the top she was just looking at, Karina instantly replied, “Well I like to look nice, but I have about four similar ones back at the Titan Colony cluster. I'm looking for things that are a little like that but more road worthy.” Karina replied. It was nice to be able to talk about thing that weren't of the military or of things that had nothing to do with fighting. Having seen the battlefield a couple of times, albeit only with pirates and mercenaries recently, things tended to be of only one topic style the whole time and even just basic tasks like exercise around the ship were boring. Karina remembered when first arriving at Cloudclaw a week and a half ago, tired and feeling a bit weighed down from the engagements and sent of oil and metal everywhere. Taking a shower in that hotel room was the first stress relief she had in a while and laying on a bed that didn't feel super firm to the touch helped her sleep like a baby the past few nights. Of course Karina's resolve to fight for the Empires cause is still there, just it felt nice to have down time. Of course Karina liked that she also met Miori just before she was meant to shove off for duty again. “Ah but what of the latest albums? How are those?”, Karina asked. Karina while waiting for an answer, found some very good pants and the styles on them were basic but the pair of pants looked very comfortable. She hoisted the item over her arm and dangled it as she moved along to look at more, some skirts came up but there were a little shorter than Karina liked. Karina avoided such clothing styles because weather it was intentional or not, men usually took any chance they got to look up a woman’s skirt even if it was an accident. However, some questions did come up in her mind, what was Miori's life like up there? “So what is life like up there? What are the people like in that tower and the around it?”, Karina was merely curious because from the lower sections and simple public, it looked very expenisive. ▲ WORDS ● TAGGED ● NOTES

Something more...road worthy?[break][break]
Such a description of clothing was not something Miori was very familiar with, but of course, it was easy for her to put together. After all, it wasn’t like she was a moron or something. She was quite knowledgeable - or so she hoped. “So you want something nice, but a little more appropriate for keeping up with the hustle?” Mio asked, biting her cheek lightly as she thought for a moment. A few seconds in, she nodded. “There might actually be a store further in with exactly what you’re looking for.” She added, smiling proudly. “It’s where I got some of my stuff for whenever I’m out and about on the ships. Great selection, and the prices aren’t too murderous either.”[break][break]
Her attention returned to the clothes, as it looked like Karina had decided to slip off into the depths of her own thoughts. Miori, however, had nothing to think about. Well...that wasn’t entirely true, there were some things. They weren’t the sort the young Empress was comfortable talking to other people about, though. Let alone someone she just met. Puckering her lips into a fish face, Miori started making quiet popping sounds with her mouth as she perused the shelves of their contents. This was cut short by Karina asking about music again, resulting in Miori responding with a loud “Hmmmm” while keeping her silly face. “Dunno, I prefer the oldies.” She said, finally returning her expression to normal. “I’ve never really taken to the newer stuff, so I’m not really the person to ask.” It was a little embarrassing, but nevertheless true. Miori wasn’t really up to date on the latest music. In fact, she really wasn’t up to date on the latest of anything.[break][break]
The question regarding life at the Tower was one Miori should have seen coming. Surely those who spent all their time in the sectors below wondered, and even more-so those who weren’t even from Jupiter to begin with. Cloudclaw was a pretty big deal to the Empire, and the Tower was one of it’s most amazing structures. “Life in the Tower is very bland.” Miori responded, frowning lightly at how true a statement it was. Embarrassed, she laughed, scratching her head gently. “Some of the people are alright, others not so much. There are some pretty neat luxuries Tower residents get to enjoy, too.” Miori added, with a sly smile slowly growing on her face. “I’ve got an idea - whenever you end up back on Jupiter, let me know, and I’ll invite you up for a weekend or something?” She said, her eyes wide with excitement. “Then you can tell me what you think!”
