Mark is normally a very nice and caring person, preferring to put other's safety ahead of his. His experience as a mercenary is two years, and he always gets the job done. He makes sure that no unnecessary casualties are possible on his group he gets assigned to. Recently he works as a lone wolf instead of part of a team. He likes the views that some places in the colony in the cluster. He views the war as a bloody conflict that should be ended, but he knows that won't come quickly, so he makes his missions count to end the war. His mindset is to help end the war, wanting to return to peace.

Mark grew up with his parents in Redding California. His father, Fred Reber was a Machina engineer and his mother, Julia Reber, was a Machina pilot of the first Machina developed. When Mark was 15 years old, his father began teaching him everything he knows about repairing and resupplying a Machina while his mother taught the basics of the controls. He trained on a Machina simulator when learning from his mother. When he was 18, he decided to move to a space colony in the Union Colony Cluster. There, he met up with someone that would help him with getting a job. The person was part of a Harbinger Union division. Mark was given a prototype Machina that he needed to repair, since it was recovered from pirate space. He has been repairing it every day since then. A year before he turned 20, it was able to be piloted without the power supply to fail. He has been working as a military mercenary ever since.
