Sam grew up in a rough environment. Her father, after losing his fame and being forced to open a gym became incredibly abusive, leading to Sam being abused from the age of 5 and onward. Sam was first abused when her father went on a drunken rampage after her mother was hospitalized due to illness. Sam learned to defend herself by watching her father and studying him. Sam would spend most of her time at school studying and she grew distant from her parents, so much so that when her mom passed away she didn't care. Just before Sam graduated middle school she was raped by the teacher that helped her all through out elementary and middle school. In return, Sam broke his nose and a good number of his fingers and later that night broke her fathers nose and told him how much she hated him. In high school Sam applied herself to her studies once again but with the intent on joining the UNE. And as soon as she could Sam filled out an application and joined the UNE where she showed a good understanding of piloting mobile suit and volunteered for the mobile suit test team where she was given the Pale Rider. Sam was a key part in the pale rider project serving for 3 years in the test team and until recently the Pale Rider didn't have its HADES system. Sam worked on the HADES system but was made unaware of its side effects she was also part of the team that worked on the sister project the EXAM system from which the HADES system was refined from. During a battle with the Ebonheart Empire Sam was shot down but survived thanks to the HADES system malfunctioning and keeping her brain active but as a result she lost almost all of her memory. Sam and her mobile suit where picked up by a Ebonheart squad and she defected after being told what the pale rider did to her mind.
