MACHINA
Miori does not pilot a Machina. However, she was the test pilot for the Noblesse Oblige prior to becoming Empress of the Empire.
NAME: Noblesse Oblige
CLASS: General
LINK: N/A
APPEARANCE
Miori has long, wavy black hair. She generally styles into twin-tails tied with black ribbons. However, Miori has been shown to sometimes wear her hair down as well. Her outfits all appear similar, though differ in their own way. One such outfit consists of a red turtleneck, a black skirt and long black socks. Another, more semi-formal outfit, consists of a white shirt with a red necktie, a red skirt and long black socks.
Mio often recounts that her two favorite outfits consists of a long sleeve red shirt and a long maroon skirt, or a long red jacket, a white polo neck jumper, a black mini skirt and long leather boots.
- Icon of Eden (located on her right hand)
- Eden-Eyes (Cerulean color)
PERSONALITY
Miori is a natural-born leader, much to the surprise of her political peers within the Empire. She possesses a great level of charisma and projects her own confidence to those around her, and uses it in a way that draws her people together. She is a leader who embraces the very fiber of unity her father so longed for. Much to the dislike of some of her mentors, Miori has an almost ruthless level of rationality, and uses her drive, determination and sharp mind to achieve whatever ends she has set for herself and her people.
One thing the young Empress loves more than anything is a good challenge. Big or small, Miori tackles any daunting task head-on, and believes that with the right resources anything can be achieved. This quality, as noted by critics, makes Miori a brilliant leader - almost moreso than her father. Her ability to think strategically and hold to long-term focus while executing each step of her plans with determination and precision makes her a powerful - and also dangerous - ruler. This determination is often a self-fulfilling prophecy, as Miori pushes to the end result of her goals through with sheer willpower where others might give up and move on, with her extrovert nature making her likely to push everyone else right along with her, achieving spectacular results in the process.
At the negotiating table, specifically within the realm of politics and warfare, Miori is dominant, relentless, and - more often than not - unforgiving. This isn't to say that she is a coldhearted or a vicious person, Miori simply and genuinely enjoys the challenge and the battle of wits that come with the political field. If the other side can't keep up or handle her, that's no reason for her to fold on a personality trait that makes her so formidable.
If there's anyone Miori can truly respect, it's someone who is able to stand up to her intellectually, who is able to act with a precision and quality equal to her own (such is the case with Klein Choshek of Vetgeist). Miori has a particular knack for recognizing the talents of others. This helps in both her team-building efforts, as well as helps ensure that Miori doesn’t get air-headed and begin displaying too much arrogance and condescension. However, they also have a particular skill in calling out others' failures with a chilling degree of insensitivity, and this is where Miori tends to run into trouble.
Ambitions:
- Peace for her people
- Vengeance for her father
- Eradicate the Harbinger Union
HISTORY
Miori is the adopted daughter of Vernier Ebonheart, the recently deceased leader of the Ebonheart Pact. She, like her brother Alexander, became very bitter following the death of their father. Miori, however, has decided to take on the task of filling in her father’s shoes and leading the Ebonheart while searching for the factions new leader.
Miori was born on March 2nd, 2059 and immediately made an orphan. Unnamed, she was eventually given the name "Miori" by the kind old woman that ran the orphanage she lived in. She would remain out of the war until she turned 14, when she was taken by the Ebonheart for the Noblesse Oblige Project. During the extensive testing, Miori died and her original body incinerated to hide evidence of the project. Two years later the project would be restarted, and Miori would be cloned from DNA samples acquired before the initial testing.
The cloned Miori is, in every way, similar to her original self. Her personality and appearance went untouched, however she somehow retained the painful memory of her death. She would excel in her testing of the Noblesse Oblige unit, exceeding all original expectations for the mobile suit. After one round of testing she was confronted by Vernier Ebonheart, President of the Pact. Vernier offered the orphan girl a place in his home, alongside his family and dearest friends. The President's kindness took Miori off guard. Hesitant at first, she would take Vernier up on his offer and was given permanent residence in the Ebonheart Mansion.
Ebonheart, with no daughter, developed a fatherly bond with Miori - nicknaming her "Mio" for short. Things for the orphan only got better from there, with Vernier eventually adopting her officially as Miori Ebonheart. Miori learned to love her new family, often going on family trips whenever they were able to, accompanying Vernier on peace visits and more.
On the day of the Gauntlet attack, Miori was with her father attending a festival event. Explosions rattled the facility, and many people were killed in what seemed like an instant. The unknown enemy made their move, killing many faction leaders in an execution-like manner. Miori and Vernier were able to escape this initial onslaught thanks to the efforts of Verniers most trusted bodyguard, Jeremiah Strauhund. This fleeting escape was cut short, however, as the group was eventually captured. The would-be Empress watched helplessly as her father was killed, her life flashing before her eyes as the enemy turned their weapons on her. Saving her life was an explosion, almost instantly incinerating the attackers, but also impaling Miori with several shards of shrapnel.
The Pieces of Eden, the objects given to her father by the being named Apollos, were used to save her life. While she regained her life with no scars, mental or otherwise, Miori was forever branded with what has now been referred to as the Icon of Eden, located on her right hand, as well as permanently making her eyes cerulean in color. Upon awakening, Miori was greeted by a young man with white hair and eyes of a similar color to her own. He had saved her, along with a few others, with the help of the remnants of her father's guard. His name was Klein, leader of a people all his known from a far away stellar system. He expressed concerns for her and his people, and offered Miori everything he had if she would keep them safe.
At first, Miori was nervous, and rightfully so. This faction of Klein's, revealed to be the Vetgeist Empire, was notoriously antagonistic. However, the young woman saw no hostility in Klein's eyes, and took his words and concern to be true. She accepted the Helghast into the Ebonheart Empire, taking Klein as her political adviser. Immediately after checking herself out of the hospital, much thanks to her impatience, Miori officially declared war against the Harbinger Union and James Cullen.
