Unlike our previous incarnation, the new and improved Redeemer utilizes a combat system of sorts.
The way it works is very simple - everything is freeform and, for the most part, entirely up to you and who you're fighting via a very simple "honor system". If you're gonna get hit, you should probably get hit. That said, many battles in such role plays have a habit of becoming what we like to call "e-peen" - which, is more or less, playing the ego and really sucking the fun out of RP all together.
In an effort to prevent e-peen battling, REDEEMER has adopted a dice rolling system. It's very simple and easy to use, simply click on the dice icon, which you'll find in the toolbar near the smilies button:
Whenever you make an attack or defend from an attack, at the end of your post simply click this button and you will be given a random number after your post is completed - alternatively, you can type in
Obviously, the highest number would win. Say the attacker rolls a 20, and the defender rolls an 11 - attacker wins, and the defender must take the attack that is being issued - be it a single shot or a flurry of strikes. Likewise, if the defender rolls a 20 and the attacker rolls an 11, the defender wins and the attacker must be left open for a counterattack if the defender so chooses.
This would play out in posting this way:
Attacker's post - preparing to attack, roll
Defender's post - prepares to defend, roll
Attacker's post - attack succeeds or fails, no roll
Defender's post - defense succeeds or fails, no roll
You do not roll a second round until an attack/defense round has concluded - that way you don't get confused.
And don't fret, people - cherry picking rolls and editing them is prevented via the plugin we use for this system - so no need to worry about cheaters!Hyo7ktjQ
